T3-Kokatat’s Breathable Fabric

First there was Gore-Tex.  Kokatat was the first drysuit manufacturer to partner with Gore, incorporating the revolutionary fabric into their water borne product line since the early 80′s.

We all know the reputation of Gore-Tex fabric.  It is the Cadillac fabric of the outdoor world.  But not everyone needs a Cadillac and furthermore…not everyone wants to pay for one, when an economy model can get us there just the same most of the time.

Then came Tropos fabric.  Kokatat developed this proprietary fabric as a more affordable option for customers who desired drygear with breathable material.  It is lighter and yet, still fairly durable.  It comes with a two-year limited warranty.  Many prefer the fabric due to its lighter feel and fit, as compared the weightier Gore-Tex.

What is T3?  Think of it like Super Tropos!  Normally Tropos products contain 2 layers of the good stuff.  The number “3″  in “T3″ refers to the addition of a tricot protective lining in addition to the two layers of Tropos.  This layer still keeps the fabric light, but greatly adds to the breathability, comfort and feel of the Tropos  product line.

In terms of price, Tropos will be less expensive than it’s newer cousin, T3.  T3 represents the best in breathable fabric that you can buy, when you want to spend nearly 30% less than you will on Gore-Tex.
